OMG Man Feeds 5 Kittens to Pit Bull

Jan 24 2010 Published by under Pet News

Last September during a party a man feed 5 lives kittens to his 18 month old Pit Bull and filmed it on his phone. Thankfully (if you can call it that) he he denied the inhumane act but they had the video to prove he was lying. I want to call him names but I will refrain, that is just sickening.

I’m Speechless Woman Abuses Children and Pets

Jan 22 2010 Published by under Pet News

Well I’m nearly speechless, I read a sad report today about a lady that had abused and tortured animals to death which is horrible enough, but it get’s worse she made her young children watch her kill them.

They found 42 dead dogs in her backyard alone, their investigation also stated they found evidence of a cat whose mouth and nose was taped with duct tape, then hung from the child’s bunk bed.

The woman had 6 daughters left at home and they are being taken care of by relatives, God bless them.

Speechless yet?

Dog Happily Reunites with Owner

Jan 18 2010 Published by under Pet News

Could you imagine losing a pet? It may have happened to you already, it did me. It’s quite heartbreaking but today’s story gives me hope and I hope it does the same for you.

Two years ago a sad thing happened someone left a communal gate open and a 8 month old bit pull terrier puppy got loose. Believe or not he was returned 2 years later, yup you read that right 2 years later. The owner who wants to remain nameless (so it doesn’t happen again) was flabbergasted. I think I would be too.

The dog wandered off again and the animal control people picked it up and found two micro chips planted inside, one for the original owner and the second not original owners.

You can read the original post here

So if you have lost a pet don’t give up hope!

It Pays to Follow Your Dreams

Jan 16 2010 Published by under Pet News

I just read a wonderful story in the Bristol Press about an accounting clerk that opened her own pet grooming store after waiting patiently for years to find the right spot.

Debbie Zakrzewski owns Arf Arf Grooming in Bristol CT and she loves what she does, it makes me happy when someone gets to do what they enjoy in life and can make a living at it too.

The story says when she was a teenager she bathed cats, (me thinks you need to be part octopus for that), and her life long passion grew. Encouraged by her son to attend grooming school when she lost year job, she did just that and has been successfully grooming pets for many years.

You can read the entire post here…

Congratulations Debbie you deserve a big Paws Up for your tenacity, may you have many profitable years ahead.

Rescue Dogs are Trained to Help Victims of Earthquakes

Jan 16 2010 Published by under Pet News

With the horrible events that took place in Haiti on January 12th this short video shows how dogs are trained to find live victims in tragedies like earthquakes. Many of these dogs are rescued from animal shelters and saved from death themselves.

Here’s a link to the video Specially Trained Dogs Prepare from CNN

Our hearts go out to the peoples of Haiti here’s the link to World Vision if you would like to donate some monies to help the victims. I’m sure there are many more agencies you can give of your time and money to help Haiti, I’m not associated with World Vision it’s just a link.

Disclaimer: before you give your money be sure you are giving on a secure and legitimate website.
